Families, we’d love for you to check out this video showcasing the beautiful handmade decorations our incredible elementary students created for the District Office holiday tree!

Utah is known for its winter conditions, with the Ogden area receiving over five feet of snowfall annually. During the winter months, temperatures typically average in the 20s and 30s, and it is common to experience patterns of cold and snowy weather.
Despite challenging weather, Weber School District has a responsibility to keep schools open as long as they can be operated safely and effectively. The community relies on our schools for the essential services they provide to children and families, so any adjustment to the school schedule has to be made with great care and consideration.
On snowy days, custodial and maintenance crews assess each school early to ensure buildings are safe to open. Adequate staff must also be on-site before classes begin. Our transportation department also monitors weather and road conditions to ensure buses can operate safely
If schools can be safely opened and buses can run on schedule, classes will be held as usual. Otherwise, the superintendent will decide whether to adjust the schedule, which may include delaying the start of school by one or two hours, depending on the conditions. Delayed starts do not require the day to be made up later in the school year.
Notifications of delays or closures will be sent out as soon as reasonably possible via text, email, and the WSD app. Please ensure you are signed up to receive these notifications.
Ultimately, it is a parent’s decision to send their child to school. If a parent feels their child cannot safely get to school, they should make the best decision regarding attendance. If a student is late or misses class due to concerns about safely getting to school in adverse weather, we will work closely with them to make up any missed assignments.
Weber School District serves over 33,000 students across 48 schools, where weather conditions can vary by community. Decisions to delay or cancel school are made with careful consideration based on district-wide circumstances, while also balancing the needs of families. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Our amazing 5th graders have been hard at work creating a fun and festive video! They learned all about Tony Sarg—the puppeteer behind the famous Macy’s parade balloons—and used their creativity to bring their own ideas to life.

Great job, 5th grade! 👏💛🍁

Our District has invited any student who wishes to participate (this is totally optional) in creating a handmade holiday ornament that will be displayed on the District Tree throughout December! ✨
Please have students who choose to participate make the ornament at home and bring to the office by November 24th. All ornaments will be returned to students after Winter Break. This is a wonderful opportunity for our kids to showcase their creativity and be part of a special community tradition.
We can’t wait to see the beautiful ornaments our Bulldogs create! 💙❄️

Friday, November 21st, we’re thrilled to host Art Start, RAD Recess, and our school Spelling Bee—all in one fun-filled day! 🎨🏃♂️🐝 We can’t wait to see all the talent and energy our students bring! 💛✨

The Christmas Community drive has officially kicked off! Look for our Giving Tree in the front foyer.

🍎✏️ Staff Favorites for the Holidays! 🎁
Hi Parents! 👋
The holiday season is approaching, and PTO has put together a short list of favorites for our wonderful teachers and staff!
If you'd like to know some of their favorite things (like drink and snack preferences), PTO has compiled this list to help you out! This is, of course, entirely optional. Your kindness and support throughout the year are the greatest gifts of all! ❤️
The attached list can also be viewed under the PTO tab if needed.
Happy Holidays! ❄️
